Student Safety
All families and students must know that NISD will ensure the safety and security from physical harm, cyber threats, and bullying. My experience has taught me the importance of building security into facilities, addressing social/emotional needs, and communicating with the community.
Accountability
During the past decade, NISD has been fiscally focused in maximizing revenue while controlling expenditures. As a board member, I will continue to work with Trustees and Educators across the state to advocate for a change in the school funding. I will also continue to monitor the District budget under the Boards responsibilities to ensure it meets the Districts needs while minimizing impact on the community.
Teacher Support
Northside ISD has established a culture of success and is a model for other school districts. I plan to fully support this culture and to find ways to continue to make improvements in NISD. I plan to continue to advocate for all students to have the opportunity to obtain their dreams. I also want all staff to have the optimum environment for their roles in teaching, feeding, cleaning after, building for, and supporting the NISD students.
Academic Rigor
When a student graduates from high school, he or she are successful when they have been prepared to be a productive citizen. The student needs to be prepared to be productive in the job market, demonstrate strong character, and have good ethics.
Academics for all students involves rigor, choice, and innovation.
